Not a lot of vegeterian options there! Beautiful (I especially like the 2009 placecard, for some reason)!

Happy new year :)

Dani,

Happy New Year

Your illustration is beautiful. Reminds me of looking at a children’s book in my childhood. Yes, it makes me very hungry.

I also want to comment on your Totoro piece. As I mentioned to you in person, you captured the sigular expression of complete joy in your piece. It is real and cannot be copied. For me, you and Ricky Nierva captured this wonderful feeling. I find your post very compelling and interesting. After viewing personal artwork from the animation community as well as informative blogs like Ted M, Bill C, and Enrico, I feel that I gaining a better grip on the fundamentals of art like composition, light and structure. I feel that I can appreciate artwork from the bottoms up rather than getting biased from the point of view of museum docent or commentary from an art historian. Your breakdown of your Totoro piece with references validates this point – learning art from an artist’s point of view. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to more of your personal artwork.
